Leaving my comfort zone
Our next assignment (Trip to Paris class) sure pushed me outside my comfort zone. The idea was to leave behind all pencil, erasers, and pens... and just use the 'brush'. Eek.... this sounded impossible and I felt like I was wearing someone else's shoes... but I gave it a try. I relaxed a bit when I discovered that the reference photos were darling little ballerinas. They were not as intimidating as some of the architecture that we've seen on our travels. Each sketch/painting was done in 5 min or less.
Claire, I just found your blog and am enjoying your last few posts immensely. The little ballerinas are perfection and so wonderful to see what you can do sans pencil. The autumn leaf below is pure beauty...So glad to have clicked on your name on another blog's comment section.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by. Happy Holidays to you.
ReplyDeleteAnd you did soooooo well outside your comfort zone, Claire!
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, nice to meet up with you from your comment on my recent posting. Love the beer labels and found the Imaginery Paris Trip a brilliant idea. Your tutor sounds as wicked as me for my last workshop, their final piece of the day had to be with the brush alone!!!
ReplyDeleteReally quite charming. I hope I do half as well leaving my ink pen behind...
