You might wonder what I've been up to .... lots of excitement with a son's college graduation, two sons home for the summer, visiting the other son, and FRUIT in our backyard. We've enjoyed lots of fresh fruit, but we had more than we could consume. So, not wanting to let it go to waste.... husband and I have kept very busy.... He has been canning lots of fruit as his mother did, and I've been making jam. This year I've made Nectarine - Lime Jam from a recipe that was printed in our local paper, and I think that the lime keeps the jam from being "too sweet".
How is your summer going???

Is that a page in your sketchbook, or a recipe size card? What a lovely painting! It could also be framed on the kitchen wall! That jam sounds delightful, by the way...
Our summer has been busy, too! It seems like summer should be more laid back, but sometimes it isn't! I hope you've been enjoying your sons' presence and having a great time. And I'm glad you took the time to paint your jam and share your sketch with us in this post.
Thanks for the comments! I did this in my sketchbook, but figured that I could use the scanned image for other things like making cards. Hadn't realized that I could also print out a recipe card image - thanks for the idea!
I've sure missed posting on my blog and interacting with everyone. I hope to get posting more frequently.
Yummy! Good to see you back!
This looks so delicious! Now you can be reminded of your wonderful summer when you enjoy this in the winter!
The fruit & jams sound yummy & the card IS yummy! I'm so glad you've been enjoying your sons & family! ~Rita
This is just lovely, Claire! You should print these out and give them as gifts with your jam. It sounds delicious...more tart than sweet, which I like as well. So glad you're enjoying a nice summer with your sons. Mine is a little quiet, but we're hoping to see both our kids this weekend!
Great to see you posting again! Life gets too busy sometimes, but spending time with family is the best. Love your sketch, and that jam sounds yummy.
I agree, Claire! I think you have some printing to do! I also like the idea of lime combined with nectarines- glad you have been having a fun summer!
That Nectarine/lime jam looks fantastic!
