Good Morning Whidbey Island!!

My husband and I recently visited our oldest son in his new home on Whidbey Island in Washington State. I painted this from a not-so-great, out-the-car-window photo as we drove by on the first morning. I was really taken by the beautiful sites in the area and I have many more pictures to paint from.

There are so many beautiful spots in Washington--one of my best friends lives just outside Seattle. Hope you enjoyed your visit and that you'll share more of your paintings and pictures.

I live on Vancouver Island BC Canada directly across from Whidby Island... it certainly is a beautiful area we live in.

Nice painting. I paint in watercolours as well:)

Hi There...I really like this picture a lot. There is something so blissful about it. I can't quite put a finger on it exactly. I am no artist and most of the terminology that you super people use is wayyyyy beyond my comprehension but I thank you for this blog and the opportunity it has given people like me to learn and understand different media of creativity.

Welcome to Whidbey! It is a lovely spot for sketching and painting. Your sketch very well captures the essence of long grassy fields overlooking the salt water passage ways. I love it and would like to receive any new sketches that you add to your blog.
