Autumn Bounty

What a surprise when I came down to breakfast recently and spotted the grouping "at my place" on the kitchen table. I didn't remember seeing this arrangement when I went to bed the night before - and it really made me wonder where it came from. Perhaps it was a group of "midnight Elves". Ah.... after a cup of coffee I figured it out. Pretty sneaky Hubby!!

My husband joins his two older sons in providing me some painting challenges from time to time. The boys have given me multiple verbal descriptions of sunsets to paint, and even some beer labels. This challenge was different - it is sort of an odd collection of produce. My husband grew the eggplant in our backyard, the gourd was grown by local high school students, and the pears came from the grocery store. Quite a mixed bag!

Please call Dad Hubby once in my presence when I come home, I want to see the reaction. Cool painting too, makes me want to see these home grown egg plants at home!

This is so much fun and so well done, Claire! Love the bounce of light and the reflected color on the eggplant as well as the lumpy, bumpy texture to the pears!

Bravo to hubby's that take the time to become involved in our painting lives too!

That's so awesome that your family promotes and encourages your art. I've kind of stopped showing mine to my family. They're tired of seeing it, and they just smile and say, "Hmm. Nice." I get better reactions from my blog friends.

You are an expert on pears, I think. I love the colors you chose and the splatter here and there. Nice job!

And you've painted it so nicely! How fun to have family members assist in the creative process.

Beautifully painted Claire - I especially love the eggplant. And how nice that family helps by offering you challenges to paint.

kind of " Here honey, paint it. And then cook us a delicious meal" LOL I always love yellow-green and purple together. Your line details add fun too.

Margaret - I sure got a chuckle out of your comment. Yes, ... I was on the hook for dinner.
