Coral Blossoms of the Flowering Quince

A delightful sign of Spring is finding some vibrant coral colored blossoms of a Flowering Quince. My first encounter was while walking on a nearby path in the winter. The vibrant coral blossoms against the barren winter landscape along the path really caught my attention. What a delightful discovery!

What signs of spring have come along your path?

I'm out of step with the rest of the country because I don't want to see signs of spring! We haven't really had any winter yet! That being said, my dogwood is blooming, and the azaleas in our neighborhood are also blooming like crazy--sure signs of spring here.

The quince you've painted is so pretty--I'd love to come upon some in real life.

Beautiful, Claire! When we used to live on Long Island- it was the Forsythia blooming through the snow that was my first sign.

Your sketch is lovely Claire. Our daffodils were already blooming last week, which are always our first sign of spring.

Gorgeous pop of color, both in the sketch and the landscape. As Kathy mentioned, it's not really winter here, but nor is it spring. Unless you count the insanely high pollen count!

I love this painting Claire! The colors composition and lettering are fabulous! I don't think we have signs of changing seasons in California : )

Nicely done. Love the balance.
